South Africa has the nickname “Rainbow Nation”. With a population of approximately 45 million South Africans, it has a broad scale of ethnical groups and cultures. South Africa has 11 official languages.

About 77 percent of the South Africans is African (black). White South Africans represent about 13 percent of the population.

There is still a big gap between rich and poor in South Africa. Although the country has definately made progress, it still has a long way to go before there is economic equality.
