Marakele

The Marakele National Park lies in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains. It is home to an impressive variety of wildlife due to its location in the transitional zone between the dry western and moister eastern regions of South Africa. Marakele is home to most of the large mammals of the African bush, including elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo, leopard, lion and cheetah.
Marakele National Park is currently divided into two parts (the ‘Kwaggasvlakte’section and the Greater Marakele National Park), by a public road. Most parts of the park are only accessible by 4x4.

You can find more information and book your accommodation on the website of the National Parks Board www.sanparks.org
