Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is the result of merging the former Kalahari-Gemsbok National Park in South Africa and the Mabuasehube-Gemsbok National Park in Botswana. The park covers about 3,6 million ha and has a lot less visitors then some of the other parks in South Africa. The best time to visit the park is in June and July, when the temperatures during the day are bearable and the animals are drawn to the waterholes.

There are 19 species of predators, including lion, cheetah, leopard and wild dog.

All camps on the South African side of the park have shops and petrol stations. The only restaurant in the park is at “Twee Rivieren” camp.

You can find more information and book your accommodation on the website of the National Parks Board www.sanparks.org
