Highlights Eastern Cape

Addo Elephant National Park
Once there were many elephants in the south of South Africa, but in the period after the First World War they have almost been eradicated here. In 1938 the last remaining elephants have been transferred to a national park. Fortunately, their numbers have grown since then, which made extension of the park necessary. Especially the southern part of the park is good to explore by car.
There are several lookout points where visitors can observe the elephants. The National Parksboard has plans to quadruple the size of Addo Elephant National Park in the future. The camp is equipped with a restaurant, shop, swimming pool and cottages. For bookings and information, please refer to www.sanparks.org
Tsitsikamma National Park
Tsitsikamma consists of approximately 100 kilometers of coastline and is a beautiful area to walk. It is also a great area for snorkeling and diving. For further information: http://www.sanparks.org
Surfing at Jeffrey's Bay
In July the Billabong Pro takes place at Jeffrey’s Bay, and not without reason, because the waves here attract surfers from around the world. It is also a good place to buy surfboards or surf gear.
